The Angels selected Tyler Chatwood (East Valley HS, Redlands) in today's First-Year Player Draft. He didn't go until the 74th round, however, and will be going to UCLA in the Fall.
"Rated the No. 81 prospect in the Draft by Baseball America, Chatwood had a 9-1 record with a 0.81 ERA while batting .521. He said he has no preference whether he plays in the field or pitches, and that playing in the Major Leagues has always been his goal, suggesting he's eager to sign with the Angels." - FROM MLB.COM
