Lose (6-11) - Win (2-1) - Lose (4-10) - Win (6-4)
What is it about the Halos and their uncanny ability to maximize the drama? Click the more link to skip past old game analysis and get straight to the discussion of K-Rod the Drama Queen.

First they can only manage to take one of three games from Texas in to start their home stand. Giving up 22 runs and scoring only 12 in the three games.
Horrible performances from Rich Thompson (0-0, 45.00ERA, 1IP, 4H, 5R, 5ER, 2BB, 0K) and Dustin Mosley (0-1, 9.00ERA, 5IP, 6H, 5R, 5ER, 1HR, 1HBP, 2BB, 4K) locked up the loss for the Angels in game 1 of the set. These performances overshadowed a solid offensive outing that saw the Halos, as a team, hit .378, score 6 runs, but, leave 20 on base!
Game two of the set was a miserable performance with the Angels somehow managing a 2-1 victory. Jered Weaver (W, 1-1, 2.02ERA, 7IP, 3H, 0R, 0BB, 6K) was dominating for 7, Oliver (H, 2, 9.00ERA, 0.2IP, 1H, 1R, 1ER, 1K, 1HR) and Speier (H, 2, 5.40ERA, 0.1IP, 1BB) combined to pitch the 8th, with Oliver almost blowing the lead. K-Rod (S, 3, 0.00ERA, 1.0IP, 1H) came in to slam the door in the 9th. Offensively it was a boring game, the Angels managed to struggle to a .364 AVG, but had only one extra base hit, a 2B by Torii Hunter.
Game 3 was another disaster for the Halos. Jon Garland (L, 1-1, 5.54ERA, 5IP, 8H, 7R, 7ER, 2BB, 2K, 2HR) could not replicate his exceptional first outing this time around. The only good news in this game is that Scot Shields (0.00ERA, 1IP, 1H, 1K) was able to pitch and looked exceptional (something that will come in handy). The Angel bats were fairly silent in this game, with the exception of Torii Hunter (1-4, HR) and GA (2-4, HR) and Nipples (1-4, 2B) the extra base hits weren't around again. The Halos hit a meager .257.
Now, on to the series opener with The Tribe From Cleveland...
It was a back-and-forth emotional roller coaster, to mirror the season. Kendrick gets hurt swinging the bat and ends his hit streak, the team hits .272, they steal 5 bases, "Smokin'" Joe Saunders (ND, 1-0, 0.56ERA, 8IP, 4H, 1R, 1ER, 2BB, 5K, 1HR) gives up one run through 8 only to watch the "Drama Queen," K-Rod (BS,
1, 8.,10ERA, 0.1IP, 2H, 3R, 3ER, 2BB) blow the save, his first of hopefully not many, and give up 3 runs in the top of the ninth! Thankfully, Scot "One T Only" Shields (W, 1-0, 0.2IP, 2H, 1B B, 1K) is back and could get out of the inning. Thankfully, Borowski did just as poorly for the Tribe, well, worse, actually, he loaded the bases and gave up a walk-off grand salami to, who else, Torii "Mr. Clutch" Hunter (3-5, 2R, 5RBI, 2HR). To watch the celebration at the end of that game was to watch a team that is beginning to, "get it's groove on."
Anyone else think that Shields should be the Halo closer and NOT K-Rod? Shields is less drama, more disciplined, etc.... Maybe with the "injury," to the poor K-Rod, Scot will see more time closing games.
